Freak-Shoe Friday: Boot or Hat?!
Apr 27th
Ok, so technically this ain’t no shoe. Or a boot. But it’s still freaky fashion, baby! I’ve got to thank fellow Canada-land designer @WeeziClothing for this fine find. I’d seen the boot-turned-bag version but never it’s sister hat design. Oh, how wearing the set would tickle Schiaparelli pink! You know, if she were still alive & all.

I have an old pair of Fornarina stiletto boots mutating in my closet that would be an ideal boot candidate for a DIY version of this noggin accessory. Maybe it’ll be my next project! Maybe I’ll blog about it.
Then again, maybe not.

Stolen Riches & Neon Laces!
Apr 18th
I recently joined the lovely gals of Hermann & Audrey at their downtown studio in Toronto, Canada for a behind-the-scenes sneak peak at the 2012 campaign photoshoot for Stolen Riches. Never heard of ‘em?! If not, I bet you’ll start hearing much more about this brand, which specializes in fun-colored laces. Yep, shoe laces, people! Probably the most neglected shoe accessory of all time…
Founder David (pictured below) definitely has a point: if you’re gonna spend a pretty penny on your shoes, why settle for the cheap-o, make-in-China laces that come with?! Your Louboutins deserve more, my friends! So give your lace-up heels & oxfords a major style re-vamp with a pop of neon color (how very Spring 2012!) or basic hues (for you boring classic folk) with a made-in-Canada brand that’s been in the shoe lace business for almost 100 years.
I got my silver laces to adorn my basic black boots. Which color will you choose?!

Care for a little Moet with your Voet?
Nov 10th
We’ve seen a lot of shoe accessories that adorn footwear, but here’s a great find that will change the style of your shoes without covering up or changing their exterior look!
Voet Hosiery‘s flirty lace lingerie-inspired toes & leg bandeaux give a sexy je ne sais quoi to your peep-toes, pumps, flats & boots, all without breaking the bank! By adding lingerie looks to my shoes, my boring, rarely worn basic pumps & boots have been given a second chance with a fresh new look. So thank you Voet for sending me the lace-love & allowing me to discover them for myself! I’m loving how the “toes” give a higher rise to my pumps’ vamps, making them oh-so on trend (if you didn’t know, toe cleavage is on it’s way out, thanks to Miu Miu‘s Fall 2011 collection).
Available in different colors & lace designs, easily layered on top of tights, leggings & under wooly & patterned socks, there is endless fun to be had!
Get your lingerie toes & leg bandeaux from $15-$18 US to add some pretty to your legs & feet!

How to Stylishly Rainproof your Heels this Fall!
Nov 9th
If you’ve been anywhere near Toronto, Ontario this fall, you’ve probably been unimpressed by the amount of rain we’ve been getting. Like me, I’m sure most of you ladies aren’t too keen on wearing your sexy high heels in the pouring rain, or having to switch in & out of rainboots, which is such a pain!
Luckily for us stuck in fall downpours, there is hope, and stylish hope at that, with these two fabulous heel rainproofing solutions!
Swims
The Scandinavians can’t seem to falter in terms of product design. The Swims brand has designed pump & ankle boot galoshes, including some for heels that are rather remarkable! They come in a variety of colors, for different shoe types for both men & women. You can purchase the galoshes & other rainproof footwear at the Swims Store.
Shuella
Becoming increasingly popular are Shuella’s high heel covers, for those who want complete protection from the rain’s potential damage. Cute & quirky, these will work with any stilettos & heels, even boots, for maximum water isolation. They come with their own little waterproof pouch too, so it makes storing them in your bag much easier! Grab ‘em at Shuella’s online shop in bright & muted colors for $49.95 US.
The above two options are a much more interesting alternative than placing plastic bags on your shoes. And yes, I admit to having done that in the past myself…
