It's now become the norm that most affordable fashion shoes for women are made in China & lined with a plasticky material. Not so fun in the summer months, am I right?
So there's a large space in my heart & soul for stylish shoes that break away from cheap materials & construction and towards a more artisanal approach to shoemaking. While still being within one's reach. Even if you're on a tight budget, like yours truly!
Utility Romper, Snake Print Heels & Matching Pedi
If you've been following along on the shoe blog or on Instagram, I'm having a little bit too much fun with crazy nail art, especially on my toes! So I decided to literally take it one step further by engaging in a little matchy-matchy action with my shoes & pedi. This time around? It's a python snake print nail wrap that I'm matching with almost identical vegan python printed sandals! Crazy? It just might be.
There's nothing more essential during the hot summer months than a pair of easy, yet stylish slip-on shoes in one's closet. And a pair that happens to go with everything! These cute pink-soled platform slides from Nine West‘s current collection definitely tick those boxes!

Styled: Embroidered Pink Platform Espadrilles, Made in Spain
Espadrilles are, hands-down a dominant shoe trend for Summer 2016. Many designers, high & low are crafting these lovely jute rope-soled shoes, but not all of them are authentic espadrilles made in Spain – their actual country of origin (even if they were once known solely as peasant shoes!).
But I found a pair of espadrilles (and matching purse!) that are not only hand crafted in the North of Spain, but made out of original Torero capes. And you can't get any more authentic than that!
I usually opt for sensible shoes, but every so often I run into a pair of heels that are too difficult for me to pass up. Just like these amazing clog-inspired, wooden platform heels with black patent leather & gold studs from Nine West. I couldn't help myself. Kinda like I couldn't with this tropical print off-the-shoulder top. It's a little insane too (and for more than the bright colors!).
