From the most recent copycat shoe drama surrounding Jeffrey Campbell, it's pretty easy to take a quick guess at who copied whom. Especially since Alejandro Ingelmo for Chris Benz's wedge sling-back pumps were shown at NYFW back in September (and blogged about by moi!) far before Campbell's look-a-likes ever hit the scene. I'm just a little stunned that I didn't do a double take on these sooner!
Although nothing beats Ingelmo's sleek version with it's more lower attached vamp, the $145 price tag on Campbell's clunkier woven wedge makes it rather attractive, as Ingelmo's high-end originals are still retailing at around $400. Yep, and that's the sale price!
It's in times like these (when I really adore a particular design) that the excessive asking $$$ for the product of desire might just makes me want to place bills in the plagiarizer's pockets. It also helps when said original design is sold out in your shoe size.
I mean, it can't be as bad as purchasing labelled knock-off, fueling the mob & drug industry, can it?!
