Here Come the Bridal Shoes!

Charlotte Olympia’s “Forever Yours”
Apparently the market for wedding shoes is getting pretty hot at the moment, as many high-end shoe designers have recently been jumping on the bridal wagon, or expanding their current selections. On this list is celebrity favorite Charlotte Olympia, whose highly anticipated “Runaway Bride” collection is now up for grabs.
As I gushed earlier this week, I’m developing a thing for white footwear (& not just for weddings!). So I say bring on the new & improved bridal collections; more eye-candy for me & you

I Want! Valentino’s Not-Just-for-Wedding Shoes
Apr 23rd
I used to scorn white shoes (even for wedding purposes!) as I thought they made even average-sized feet look like the Titanic & disliked how the dirt they attracted on the first wear, would warrant a direct toss into the garbage bin. Smog-stained heels aren’t exactly in fashion now are they?!
Over the past year, however, I’ve begun to get a taste of the color-less footwear & have added many into my I Want! shoe list. This bright-white gem from Valentino fuses 3 of my biggest shoe-loves: spikes, multi-straps & the stiletto pump! Even though I’ll likely never be an avid endorser of white shoes under that puffy dress (rather ordinary, no?), I could make an exception for these metal-bedazzled heels. It’d be fun to have a little rock&roll peep out from under my bridal hem!
What’s your take? Would you reserve white shoes exclusively for a trip down the aisle?

Chie Mihara Gets her Wedding Shoes on!
Nov 17th
Chie Mihara introduces some very white wedding shoes in her collection for Fall/Winter 2011. The forms, detailing & quirky heels are translated in cute shoes for a lucky bride. What I love about Mihara’s shoes, which I’m sure any bride would appreciate, is the relatively tame price-point (averaging around $400 US a pair) for the great Made in Spain craftsmanship, which seriously beats out any of the designer’s competitors. And with it’s great quality comes an extreme comfort which is definitely hard to beat!
So if Chie Mihara is your style & you’re gonna be dancing the night away at your wedding, these cute bridal pumps & Mary-Janes are a sure thing! You can get them straight from the source at Mihara’s online shop.
Tiny Crystal Shoes for a Mini Kate Middleton Doll!
Aug 31st
These are just too cute to not share! Not only did British bridal shoe designer Aruna Seth outfit Pippa Middleton’s feet for the Royal wedding, UK toy brand Arklu asked Aruna to create heels for the Kate Middleton bridal doll & the glittery heels she designed are absolutely fantastic! If they came in ‘real’ sizes I’d order a pair for myself; wedding or no wedding
But if you’d like a similar pair, the crystal embellished satin Cerise shoes from Aruna’s present collection is a great alternative (see below).
Too bad the Kate Middleton & Prince William dolls are so freakish looking!
