Shoe Graveyard: Flowery Heels Bite the Dust
Aug 9th
Yes, I know I know, summer’s not yet over, but I’m chucking away flowers anyhow (albeit, flower-printed Hoyvoy shoes!). They were cute, they were cheap, but I realized all too late how uncomfortable for my feet they truly were when any attempt to “break in” the back portion of the shoe’s upper, was made futile.
So never having worn you, little pretties, I must to let you go. Which makes me sad, but teaches me a lesson (which I thought I’d already learned!): that if the shoe doesn’t fit or is in the slightest way uncomfortable, just pass. No matter how lovely or how much of a frugal find they may be.

Shoe Graveyard – XOXO Pumps get the Dump
May 12th
Please hold your laughter & lift your jaw back up. I am fully aware that yes, this pair of shoes is BAD (and sadly, in no way are they bad-ass!). But way back when (I’m estimating roughly a decade ago) I thought these were cool. Heck, so did lots of others who’d stop me in my tracks asking where I bought such pretty pretties!
Toe cleavage wasn’t so hot back then & apparently a frumpy, rounded square toe was all the rage. Sadly, today it ain’t & I don’t believe there is a slight chance this upper/toe shape will ever creep its way back in fashion. To be honest, I can’t recall them ever really being “in”, but then again, I may have blocked it out. Kinda like I did the late 80s/early 90s. It’s almost funny that these XOXO shoes are much worse than the last pair I laid to rest.
So goodbye I say to my old XOXO pumps, which today get the dump. R.I.P.
…I figure if these shoes come back to haunt me, they’ll look something like the image below, which funny enough, isn’t as bad as the original pair!

Shoe Graveyard: Goodbye Sturdy-Heeled Companions
Apr 6th
It is with much sadness that I say goodbye you, good ‘ol go-to nude patent loafers from the GAP. You were not on sale, there were many other pretty colors to choose from, but I picked you. Seasons have come & gone, yet you’ve stayed by my side. You were handy to have around when clouds sprinkled rain & did not protest like your suede counterparts. You played nice with both skirts and flared jeans. You did not let me slip or fall. And for this, I am thankful. We’ve had a great 6-year run, but your toe shape is the death of you, so you must be put to rest.
Hopefully a good shoe replacement is just around the corner, but nonetheless, you will be missed.

Shoe Graveyard: Another pair bites the dust
Nov 1st
Oh dear shoes, I don’t even know where to begin. WTF was I thinking is marked all over your upper. Your whimsical nature must have called out to me, as you have nothing, apart from great form, that I look for in a shoe. Your stitching is eerily surgical-like and your eyelet tacked-on leather circles, well, they are eyelet tacked-on leather circles for goodness sake! You have been my ugly baby, which I have paraded around with no shame until now. Although I must admit, you do photograph rather well…
The saddest part (aside from unfortunate aesthetics) is that you looked so comfortable & inviting with your rounded toe and low heel. But, alas, you deceived me, as you left nothing but blisters & bruises and began to crumble apart after only a couple of wears. Now you must go to a better place. A place where you cannot visually pollute anyone’s horizon.
