Freak-Shoe Friday: Sandcastle Feet
Apr 20th
Now get yer minds out of the gutter, people! These are sandcastle shoes, not penis branch shoes. Geez. Not that this makes ‘em any less weird, mind you (although if phallus footwear is what your after, you might want to skip to this post).
Igor Dewe, French designer & performer (with a degree in fashion design & pattern drafting, no less) surely has a knack for originality. I’d have never come up with sandcastle tower erection heels all by my lonesome. Well, not sober, anyhow.
Maybe it’s just me, but these kinda look like a perverted version of Alexander McQueen’s Armadillo platforms. With hairy legs.
That is all.

Freak-Shoe Friday – Lego on my Stiletto?!
Jan 13th
Who’d have thought? Lego stilettos & I love ‘em! British artist & contemporary product design visionary Finn Stone created these play-shoes, although be careful if you’re going to wear them, as you’ll surely have children (and probably a plethora of adults!) at your feet.
Would you give ‘em a go?!

Canned! Giant McQueen Armadillo Heels in New York
Nov 13th
Talk about massive shoe art for a great cause! One of Canstructions‘, can constructions are two statues of the Alexander McQueen shoes Lady Gaga made famous – the “Armadillo” heels. Designed by Arup and Kohn Pederson Fox respectively, these canned sculptures are on display in NYC for the 19th Annual Canstruction Exhibition, which features 26 gargantuan sculptures created by architecture & design firms. Wish I were near NYC to see these!
The exhibition is free & open to the public until November 21st. The purpose of this display? The 100,000 cans, which will be given to City Harvest just in time for American Thanksgiving, will help local community food programs. Last year, the program raised over 2 Million pounds of food!
Visit the Arts World Financial Centre online for more info, including location & exhibit hours.

The Hottest Heel I’ve Seen in Years! Thanks Charlotte Olympia :)
Oct 17th
I just got a glimpse of these amazing Charlotte Olympia heels that went up for pre-order on on Moda Operandi website (thanks to Elle.com for the scoop!) & wow, they took my breath away!
An enormous fan of lace-like intricate metal work (I collect image of artsy rod-iron gates!) one can obviously understand my excitement for literally, the heels, on these shoes. Yet for $2, 395 US, I’m not quite sure if I’d wear them or leave them framed on a shelf!
Now I feel like taking nap & having sweet shoe dreams!
