Drooling all over Alaïa!

So I know I just posted about this Alaïa wedge on Facebook the other day, but I’ve become so obsessed with the design that I couldn’t help but write up a post about it too!
So for your Monday viewing pleasure I present you my two favourite styles from the designer’s Spring 2012 collection. Love the studs. Love the swirls, Love the heels. But really, what’s not to love?! Well, maybe the price-tag: almost two grand US. Yikes!

Pretty, pretty! Actually, scrap that. GORGEOUS! Again, a little black dress with shoes to impress. Another bit of proof that black clothing doesn’t have to become boring fashion. I Want! Yves Saint Laurent Obsession Heels

Was busy Pinning today when I came across Yves St. Laurent‘s “Obsession” color-blocked slingback heels & absolutely fell in love. Style them with a cocktail dress, pantsuit or a plain pair of jeans, the versatility of this platform definitely won’t disappoint. These suede, leather & red satin gems are a perfect match & finished off with a fun black twisty ankle strap. I die.
Why it is that I consistently fall for over-the-top, ankle-spraining & impossibly expensive high end shoes is beyond me. Fashion is such a bi@tch, but it does make for some great eye candy

Freak-Shoe Friday: Most Vicious Heels Yet!

Vicious & spectacular, the “Fang” shoe created by Iris van Herpen & United Nude for La Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris, is a definite freak of a shoe. But this time around, it’s an amazing freak shoe! One to believe that the heels makes (and ultimately sells!) the footwear, this one definitely takes the attention-grabbing cake. Arrive at any event outfitted in these pony hair booties & you won’t be left alone for long (up to you to determine whether this is a good or bad thing!).
It’s not clear yet whether these carnivorous platforms will ever be produced for the general public, but if they ever will be, I’d not wait long to replace the plain brown laces with some funky neon orange or yellow ones, à la Stolen Riches, for an extra fierce effect.
